I didn't read Deplorable's long post, because it's just more of the same BS. For the few who read him and nod their heads, you're being trolled by MorganWeDo, FilipinoBruin, and a bunch of other handles he's made up. It's performance art; he doesn't even believe what he posts. He just likes poking at UCLA fans.
Chip had plenty of time pre-NIL to get the program rolling to the point where people would be willing to contribute, and he f'd it up with his pride. In his final days, no NIL was coming to save him, because people had given up on him. This is what happens when you tear down a program, shut fans out, don't court donors, and aren't willing to sell, sell, sell the program. Foster met with boosters re: NIL this very day and publicized it, something Chip would never do. I bet UCLA raises a healthy sum between now and next season. How can Chip lament the lack of NIL when he found the whole idea distasteful and never put any effort into getting it going? His attitude was that things like attendance, fundraising, and fan engagement (like having a Spring Game) were not his job. Foster has already announced that he wants to have a spring game at the Rose Bowl and possibly bring back Fall camp at San Bernardino. Chip showed the fans no love, as they say, and ultimately he got none in return.
Chip knew his goose was cooked and has been looking around for a while, as reported in multiple media outlets. I'm not sure why anyone would want him to stay, when he himself did not want to be here. He simply did not want to do what the job required, especially at a school like UCLA where things have been down for a while and needed a boost. Chip is better off where he is now, drawing up plays for guys who will be hand delivered to him.
