White has had more coordinator experience than either Malloe or Foster. Plus his recent experience with Nebraska gives him a leg up on our entering into the Big 10/18/ whatever.
Foster going from several years as position coach to OC is a natural progression and would help us hold onto players. And it allows to build an identity as a run-first/ run-to-set-up-pass kind of offense. With Garbers a solid game-manager QB that makes sense. And an OC position not only shows the players he’s being rewarded and valued but also hopefully makes the Raiders less put out by Foster leaving the RB coach position they were “reportedly” giving him.
Keeping Malloe at DC is still a promotion for him, and hopefully still helps keep the current players in the fold.
