That’s a CRAZY take. Before his second contract extension his contracted ended in 2025. The first extension came the day before his buyout was ZERO! Moreover, prior to the Dec 22 extension. “If UCLA fires Kelly after Dec. 15, 2023 and up until his contract expires, the university would owe no buyout whatsoever.”
Do you see the problem with your thought process? If we wanted him out we wouldn’t have extended him because there was a buyout in the amount of ZERO. By extending him we obligated ourselves to spend millions to terminate him. Does that sound like an AD who wanted to get rid of him? So, yeah, I have to squint A LOT to go from Zero to 8.4mm or 4mm+.
