Yes, had a great new year. Same to you.

The size of the bag is the difference. Ratcliffe provides recent anecdotal proof of this point with his flip last week to aTm. Coaching, not yet even in place at aTm, was not the decisive factor. Money was.

You project onto me your own bias. I have never been a member of the cult of coach. I've been decrying it as dumb for a long time.

Chip was remarkably innovative at Oregon but he also had, eventually, top talent backed by the biggest bag in the business, Phil Knight and Nike.

Chip's not a genius but I like his program despite some painful losses along the way. He has a well organized program, recruits good players and solid citizens, and guides it all with a cohesive strategy. It doesn't work well with a third string QB, as we saw against ASU and Cal this year and with Dante Moore in any of his P12 starts.

His failure in 2023 stemmed, ironically, from his greatest recruiting "success", Dante Moore. He's not a lazy recruiter.

My message to the board is: Stop fretting about the coach. The dough is the difference. Chip will do better than most with the talent the program can acquire.

He'll do better with more talent. Only NIL money can increase how much talent he has available.

Donate, don't complain.
