pretty much to assumption from everyone i've seen commenting, reporting, posting - apparently UCLA promised $50K and A&M pays $100K plus stuff (withholding contributions to NIL football may be a self-defeating supporter strategy). But you do raise a solid question - he may also have just looked at the roster for the coming year - minus the entire core of the front seven and good and experienced DBs to play with (saying nothing of our offense probabilities esp, O Line) he could also have said 'why put myself through that when there's this other offer from a deep pockets football school?' Seems a reasonable thing for a young man with options to ask himself
