It was hypocritical of the NCAA to benefit off his and other’s likeness when players couldn’t. The NCAA should have just not used any players likeness.
I understand the reasoning for athletes to not receive benefits to try to keep things somewhat even, however I didn’t see how a student athlete couldn’t make money on their own away from representing a university. I’m just speculating that if players could have made money on their likeness from the beginning, maybe things would have started slow and kept steady. Just speculation though. If I’m representing a business, I’d want a proven athlete representing my brand instead of an unproven.
