Problem is, no one else had the same reaction.

"A little annoyed?"

He's the head coach of a legendary college hoops program. To his credit, he fairly dismissed the question by fairly saying he didn't care what the MSU fans wanted. He dismissed the question as stupid but gave the kid kudos for an earlier question and the kid clearly said "I'll take it" and faded to black.

CMC, the head coach and adult in the room, was the one who wouldn't let it go. Sure, mediots often ask stupid questions at pressers, but this was a kid from some Michigan outlet and CMC was the one who wouldn't let it go. Kept going after the kid after an embarrassing loss, after the kid dropped the exchange saying he'd take MadMick's kudo.

What invariably then happens is: "Next question"..................except Mick, who has done a gazillion pressers, could barely hold in his emotions. The kid's question was what was the: "big deal out of nothing". Mick's reaction to a hometown stupid question about letting Book's original fanbase celebrate him (and, to Mick's credit, he did give Book an extended 25 mins of playing time vs his avg of 20 mins) went to his same ol' same ol' of pointing fingers and looking to throw someone under the bus after an embarrassing loss when he got thoroughly out-coached.

You can say that MadMick's demeanor is making a "big deal out of nothing", but anyone would have to be wearing horse blinders to dismiss the broad criticism he receives time after time for repeatedly throwing his players, his coaches and Joe and Josephine Bruin under the bus, as "nothing".
