I don't remember, but during that sequence how many points did Northwestern cut into the lead? The Bruins were holding on to the lead and time was running out. Fouling only stops the clock and allows the opponent to score without any time running. I do remember the Bruins missed at least one free throw in that period - maybe two. It's crucial to hit your free throws late in the game. The Bruins were challenged in that respect. I agree with you that you want to put some resistance, but you diffidently don't want to foul. Those two things can be tricky to pull off simultaneously. I think I would always err toward the latter in that situation the Bruins were in yesterday.
