I try not to be a Championship or Bust guy. But, I get bummed out when I watch UConn. They're insane. Eisntein posited something called Spooky Action at a Distance. As far as I understand, Quantum Physics is confirming that an action on molecule can concurrently affect a molecule far far away. Like it's being done to that molecule too. It's not an instantaneous effect, it's concurrent.
UConn on O looks like Spooky Action at a Distance. They are always concurrently moving to positions that will give the player with the ball an advantage. Concurrently - not waiting to see what happens. If the D takes something away from the dribbler, her teammates are concurrently moving to positions where she has passing options and that recipient of the pass will have options. It doesn't matter if the dribbler gets pushed left, pushed right, or stopped - teammates are moving to help her, and to be in position for the second pass. It's incredible.
And, on D, they play as if their lives are at stake, and again, they are very organized.
Individually, Strong is the player you make when the video game let's you make a player. Dribbling, passing, rebounding, shooting from every level - all 10's. And, the defensive aspects of all of those skills. Fudd is like she plays in another dimension. She will do everything more quickly than her opponent. She dominated Hannah Hidalgo. She drains threes and is the proverbial "can get her shot off in a phone booth" player. Serah Williams is an AA Center transfer. Quinones might be the most impactful freshman in the country. I doubt UConn would trade her for this season for any other Freshman. KK Arnold, Shade, and Heckel are absolute dogs on D. Shade and Heckel are hitting 38% on 3's.
We still have some improving to do.
