The most efficient offensive team in the country is also one of the slowest, yet averages 85 points a game.
The classic example of efficiency vs tempo is a team that takes 100 shots and makes 30 vs the team that takes 30 shots and makes 30.
The real question here should be are we more efficient at a higher or lower tempo?
I analyzed this recently HERE. Our efficiency has no correlation with tempo. The years of high efficiency had a wide range of tempos, but mostly slower than average.
The fewer possessions you have, then the fewer the opponents have too, thus less chances to score. If you're more efficient, then you will win. All that's important is scoring more than the other guy, not your total points.
You shouldn't debate the statistically challenged on this subject.
