Cronin has never delivered on his promise that he could get recruit pretty much anyone to come to UCLA. Elite recruits don't want to play for him because he puts governors on all his freshman and tends to hurt the draft stock of those looking to leave early. And specifically regarding centers, he has a terrible track record of developing big men. Most of them leave pretty much the same players that they were when they arrived.
