for them, this was Gold. Perpetuates the idea that they are victims, being systemically victimized in the US, being victims of violence by Zionists (I couldn't decide on the right word, correct me if there's a better one). This was gold for them. They are not the thugs in this act of the play.
And, whoever organized the attackers was so.incredibly.stupid. I don't even remember the topic, but my Contracts/Remedies professor (I had him for both), was talking about something involving anticipatory breach? Something like that. He said "there's two hats on the table, a white one and a black one. You do that (whatever it was), and you've just reached out and grabbed the black hat."
That's what the counterprotestors did last night. They didn't have to go anywhere near the black hat. But, they cut the material, glued it together, and put it on for the world to see. "Look at us! We're the bad guys!" And, I'm tellin ya, this probably wasn't the plan of the good people that were protesting in peace. But, the people that were/are giving them guidance, they were hoping for this.
