I don't see how he proved anything. He is not Verlander and he is not Burnes. They could have gotten Burnes for a lot cheaper.
You are hand picking your way to a 2 ERA. His ERA is 3.54. If you want to do that, his ERA against teams above .500 is 3.38. That's not including the 45 ERA he got in his first game.
I would have most certainly signed burnes for 5 years 75 Million instead Of Yamamoto 10 years 325 Million. No doubt.
And by the way there are 14 pitchers right now that have ERA's under 2 and that is counting every game.
