You right wingers are new to this game of having your views fall off the Overton window. Which is why you're on a constant outrage mode.
Before you guys slipped so far out, we had middle of the road left, social Democrats, whose views were said to be completely unacceptable. Among the views we held that were so unacceptable was the one that said Palestinians are actual human beings with intrinsic worth equivalent to other human beings, such as Israelis.
That kind of perspective on the value of human life is still not considered acceptable by organizations who decided they are the ones who are guarding societal values and sense of order, such as university administrators and the police, among many others.
That's what's playing out in campuses. The ideas expressed by these students are considered very very dangerous to the fabric of society because if we come to agree that Palestinians are human beings, what's best? That's a scary thought for some. So they "release the hounds". It's a cycle that repeats.
