For a while Democrats seemed really close to accepting the basic humanity of a Palestinian civilian, but yeah, that moment has passed now (whew).
I was mostly thinking in terms of the media. For a stretch of time, they seemed genuinely appalled with children being killed. But now that this whole thing has turned into yet another pointless college campus drama, we can go back to painting people who are sympathizing with a population that is being decimated in front of our eyes in real time as impudent children who can't appreciate how complex the morality of genocide can be.
