I don't think a baseball game is like a coin flip. Previous plays have a tremendous affect on subsequent plays.
I do think your stat "% times scored in EI" is an excellent one. Who are the most offensively effective teams in MLB in EI? Are the Dodgers below or above average? What about defensively?
