it's a stand alone expert system, I don't know.
AI is so many things. Before we started talking about language generators as AI, it was Machine Learning working on big data. When the next shiny object comes along, that one will be called AI and generative AI (language, images, music, etc) will drop back to the background and become ambient technology.
Reasoning has always been a major milestone and potential game changer for AI. Looks like people tech insider who kept raising concerns about AI had their sight set on this thing that's coming instead what was released to the public at the time.
This is all just me speculating, by the way. It's not like I closely follow what's going on with this technology.
