but the Bowl felt more full than that.
The tarps were all up, but the north end of the Bowl was full, seemingly of high school students. The west (shady) side was pretty full while the issue was in doubt. There was a whole bank of seats on the south end closer to the field than the tarps, right above the new luxury area that opened this season, that was absolutely empty. The northeast quarter of the Bowl was also empty.
I'd have guessed that attendance as in the low 40k's.
However, I can't say how many paid full price to join us this evening. My tailgating group was joined by the son of one of our Bruins, but who was an Aztec fan. He said he'd bought his ticket for half price from the Bruin website. The kids in the north end zone couldn't have paid full freight for their seats.
I suspect Chesney is going to need a little more time to fill the Bowl like we all remember from days of yore....
