It really is a huge difference when you get up in level in sports and a lot of situations. I'm a big tennis guy and we talk about the differences of Nadal, Djokovic, and Federer compared to the rest of the players out there when they were dominating. When you look at percentage of overall points won, they are somewhere in the neighborhood of 54.2-54.4%. The next group of players were marginally lower, like 54.1-54.2%. The major difference of the Big 3 having won 20 plus Grand Slams is what they were able to do at crucial and high pressure moments. There was just no doubt.
Sports like baseball, pitchers can throw stikes all day long, but now you get put into a high pressure situation late in a game (especially post season) and many just have that little bit of doubt creep in. Golfers on high pressure puts. Did anyone ever doubt what Michael Jordan was going to do in the last seconds of post season game when they were down 1? It's on and on. Not just sports, but I think people can relate to sports on this. It shows you how great the best of best are and how important that level of confidence is.
