It was announced on Monday that UCLA defensive back Ta'Shawn James has been named Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
The honor comes after the James had an eight tackle, two interception performance in the Bruins' season opening 45-24 win over the Cal Golden Bears. It was the first time a Bruin had two interceptions in a game since Carson Schwesinger achieved that feat against Iowa in 2024. His performance in that game led him to being named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, which was the last time any Bruin won the honor.
