The more verified offers a player gets, the better. The player gets a bonus for being widely offered.

And who the player gets offered by matters, too.

An offer from bammy, UGA, tOSU, etc (ie, the top of the cfb pyramid) gets a kid, say, 10 pts.

An offer from New Mexico gets the kid 2 or 3 points.

Let's face it, the staff on cfb teams get paid to evaluate players. The HC who hires the recruiting staff is putting his job on the line by betting that the staff he hired is going to differentiate between good and bad players.

The teams that win are generally doing something right. Part of that is evaluation.

So if a kid gets only one offer, and it's from UGA, his rating might not be very high, because he doesn't have the volume. But his "quality offer" score is going to be high, since UGA has a stellar reputation as a football program these days.

It's more honest than what is going on now. Just be up front about it.
