Recovered from injury

The latest Top247 football rankings are out, and UCLA fans are going to want to take a close look at the newest update.

It starts with JuJu Johnson. Come on down and collect your fifth star.

The dynamic athlete out of Long Beach Poly is officially a five-star prospect after skyrocketing from the No. 109 prospect in the country all the way to No. 31 overall in the latest Top247 refresh. That massive 78-spot leap reflects just how high the national scouting department is on his elite physical ceiling and rare athletic profile, which is even more impressive considering he missed his entire junior season due to a lower-body injury.

However, any medical or developmental concerns have been completely erased. Johnson looks as healthy as ever, coming off a dominant showing at The Opening in Dallas before showcasing his two-way ability last Sunday during the 7-on-7 portion of the Elite 11 Finals. If UCLA can hold onto Johnson through the finish line, it will mark a massive, program-defining recruiting victory for Bob Chesney, as he will become the first five-star to sign with the Bruins since quarterback Dante Moore in the 2023 cycle (and Chesney's first).
