I would probably buy season tickets. If I knew the future and knew we would go 6-6, I would not buy them. But of course that's not the case.
Not sure who you would consider a "big time coach", but assuming you mean a big name, that's not happening. Whoever we hire, we won't know what he's capable of until we see his teams play, which is the part I want to watch. I'd be pretty excited with several of the names who have been mentioned. Nico has no bearing on my decision, though I'd like to see him return.
I don't think some people fully realize how bad Foster was. A big part of being a fan is watching and hoping you might see something special happen, even if it's unlikely. A new coach has a chance to do that. Foster was a joke from the start and gave us no chance. I think he could have coached here for 20 years and never had a winning season. You still wanted to hope, but it wasn't enough to get you fully engaged. I thought I'd eventually go back during Chip, but after his first two seasons and the way he recruited, I knew he wasn't the answer. Even in 2022 when we started 6-0, I didn't even watch on TV because I didn't believe in it.
I could see us winning 8-9 next year with a coach who brings some players and is given money to spend in the portal, especially if he brings a QB or Nico returns. The schedule certainly seems more favorable. I think that would really energize the fanbase like Mora did in 2012. I don't think that's likely, but if we make a good hire, it's possible.
One thing I like about the new era, no long-term reclamation projects. Hit the ground running or hit the bricks.
