No one has ever billed the star system as a means of predicting NFL stardom. It's meant to predict success at the college level.
Lawrence was a 5-star out of high school. He went 34-2 as a starter in college and won a NC. He completely lived up to his 5-star billing, and then some.
Allen went to a tiny high school in Firebaugh and went on to complete 56% of his passes in college. It's not like the recruiting gurus missed an NCAA star.
I don't think this is a good case study on the flaws of the star system or internet recruiting sites.
