He makes the whole D better by 25% - 30% by eating double teams, freeing the edge rushers and taking pressure off the secondary.
If he's returning because fresh NIL money arrived for him, that's terrific news. Best case scenario. If his boosted NIL payment diminishes the stagnant pool for all other talent, it's not terrific, but still a good move to get Toia back. In this scenario, we'll suffer somewhere else at another position.
We'll have to see how the rest of the NIL tournament goes to calibrate where we are relative to our competition. But the picture has brightened.
