In BB you can win with a handful of good players. You can win by having 2nd tier players that stay 4 years.
That's why colleges like Kansas, Gonzaga, Villanova, etc can win as UCLA does without a ton of money. All you need is a good coach.
But when it comes to an athletic program's value it is almost entirely based on FB which is why Kansas was so devalued during the conference realignment. FB is expensive to win but also valuable in a TV deal.
