Just about everyone has known NIL is being used as a recruiting tool. A huge group of HCs have also voiced concerns over that. A lot of us have voice our displeasure over what NIL should be an what it is actually turning into.
Fans are fickle no matter what part of the country you're in. That's part of why HCs get paid so much now.
The part that you are keeping out is Kelly quit in FEBRUARY. Taking fans' opinions out of the equation, it's quitting on his players, coaching staff, administration if you want to put that in, and the university's Athletic Department as a whole. He left everyone there to now scramble to salvage a program when the rest of the country is preparing for Spring ball. The options to fix all that became incredibly slim. I'm surprised that 30 players didn't enter the transfer portal that first week. It also didn't give a fair opportunity to the rest of the coaching staff to take care of themselves if the change had happened at the end of the year as what typically happens in CFB.
