By necessity, UCLA is having to get by with fewer public funding dollars, as California is getting fiscally stretched.
I love UCLA sports, but my own greatest priority is the academic side of UCLA. And, that it's becoming more elite in that space is very pleasing for me. That said, finances are tight and competition is intense, both on the expenditure and revenue side.
It's just my personal preference, but I always contribute to the Chancellor's Greatest Needs fund. It's been prioritized by the UCLA Administration as a funding mechanism for those areas of substantial necessity. Our old pal, BruinGray, could quote chapter & verse as to the worthiness of this featured fund.
Wherever you are able to donate and WHATEVER the amount, it will serve an enduring purpose for the uni we all love. I just made my annual contribution and hope others will take the time to do likewise. UCLA Donor Relations is readily available at:
