was listening to Rick Neuheisel's show on satellite radio's college sports station when he and his partner got the numbers for invites to the NFL Combine per school. (The record for most players drafted in one draft from a single school is 15.)
Michigan had 18 players invited to this year's combine. Next highest was 13 iirc. Schools that led the list were: Michigan, Washington, Florida State, Georgia, Texas, Ohio State - only non top 8 school was Penn State - #3 in the B1G.
Neuheisel's point was that if you can't keep up in recruiting (which requires a healthy NIL operation), you aren't going to be competitive at the top. The ole it's not Xs and 0s but Jimmies and Joes.
They thought that was a pretty direct correlation and that it illustrates a dividing line at the moment between elite teams and everyone else
