The way to climb out of debt is to put a good product on the field and get some butts in the stands. At this point, we're beyond circling the drain. Someone needs to get a coat hanger and fish us out of the drain.
Spending $1.5/year (or whatever it takes within Chip's $2 million/year gift to us) to get a top OC would be the best possible money the athletic department could spend - assuming that the athletic department cares about football attendance.
