What happens from this point on is not Foster's fault, at least the first few years. He is very likely not ready for this role (unless he turns out to be a brilliant coach and we did not know about it) but he is willing to make this jump into the unknown because his connection and love for this program is great. In a way, he is sacrificing his natural progression and learning process because the offer is way too good to ignore.

He may be sacrificing his long term career by doing this. So no matter what happens we need to extend him that courtesy in the first few years, for sure.

Jarmond, on the other hand ... he should have had a back up even at this point in the game. His job is not to trust that Kelly will do the right thing but at least have his ear to the ground so that he knows about Kelly's intentions even perhaps he does. The position he holds is not a position to make game plans or recruit players. It is to have plan if and when things like this happen. That's what he is being paid to do. This year's Kelly debacle. mid-season till today, is on him.
