There is something to have been a HC before. Experience is important. I don’t know if Odom is good or not but he coached in the best conference in football at a very average football power and his record was very average. How good is any coach gonnna be in the SEC at Missouri.
He did a really good job as DC at Arkansas too. I do remember the ark teams but didn’t realize he was there.
I have no idea about UNLV. I didn’t see them play a down.
OTOH, what makes White hiresble? If he wasn’t an alum he wouldn’t be a candidate. He’s had 3 good years as a DC. Two in cuse and 1 in Lincoln.
If you’re doing a blind resume of actual achievements, Odom > White, by a pretty wide margin. Arkansas DC (and he had other titles) is > Nebraska or Cuse plus two stints as a HC.
I’ll say it again, if White wasn’t an alum he wouldn’t be on our radar. I don’t recall seeing his name for any jobs this entire cycle. Being an alum should not be a factor in hiring.
