I think that's a pretty silly take. First, you're assuming that UCLA wouldn't take the kicker, in your example, despite his/her/their being a "promising" talent. Second, if the player did sue, he/she/they would have to show an actual pattern of actual bias, backed up with some evidence that the gender or gender identity was the reason for the non-acceptance. Jarmond's letter to the fan base is hardly going to show a pattern, an official stance or policy, or anything else.
