It would be a lot harder for the Dept to justify writing a check than justify not receiving a check. Especially when not receiving a check means extricating oneself from what appears to be a pretty bad situation.

But, I don't know. A few weeks ago, when none of this was going on but the community was pretty univerally unhappy w/ Chip, I conjectured "maybe .... what if Jarmond told Chip in no uncertain terms, you will not be rehired, it might serve you well to find another job before you're not rehired."

Subsequently, I suggested that maybe if we waived the buyout, that would grease the tracks.

No one said "Good idea, Burgie!" The response was "Why would he walk away from $6 mil for another job that has no security?!- there is no security in cfb assistant coaching job!" That was pretty convincing to me. I said, "oh well, I tried to come up with a plan that no one that matters will ever read anyway."

Now, the way things are happening, what I proposed is not inconsistent with what we know so far.

And, if they waived the buyout, I'm fine with that. If they didn't .... Awesome!!!!!!
