The absolute GOAT. I think there is a good argument that the delta between him and #2 in cfb is as large as there is between any of the major sports (nfl, cfb, mlb, nba and cbb).
As good at his craft as anyone has ever been. I will miss Saban. He epitomized everything good about college sports.
I’m not sure Saban’s expedited retirement is a direct result of the portal and NIL, but I’m sure it had a lot to do with it. We’ve lost an unbelievable amount of collegiate legends in coaching because of the sea change. Saban, K, Roy, et al.
