of an individual player who may believe he is underpaid or underappreciated. I'm sure most coaches would be aware of this possibility and would try to mitigate the potential risk. When one player secures a massive deal, I'd expect the coach to frame that succesful signing as something that elevates the entire program's brand, rather than a personal slight to teammates.
