This is 100% not his worth in the open market. It's his worth to a desperate, lame duck coach at UCLA.
If he were really this valuable a player, why didn't any elite programs offer him a scholarship? Not Duke, not UNC, not Kansas, not UConn.
It's a terrible decision to give so much money to such a high-risk player. But again, I'm all for it because it's going to finally get enough UCLA fans to see that Cronin doesn't have a clue what he's doing.
