Pope has nothing to lose. It's like Lane Kiffin taking the USC football job. Neither coach had a resume that warranted consideration for such a prestigious job, and in Kiffin's case, his colossal failure with the Trojans led to him getting further job opportunities. I expect a similar trajectory for Pope.
