One of Big Brown's shoes came loose, 200 yards out of the gate. There is photo evidence that proves this. It was obvious to me that the horse was not running right, and if it was that obvious to me, Desormeaux could feel it too.
The nail supposedly went back in, but not in the right place, and it apparently bothered the horse enough to make the jockey worry about his health... correctly. You're dealing with a horse that's worth $200 Million even with a loss... unless he breaks down and has to be destroyed.
Not to be too harsh, but you sound just like Dutrow, and you both owe Desormeaux an apology, imho.
