UCLA's 10-0 pummeling of WSU, combined with losses by OSU and Washington, two teams ahead of the Bruins in Pac-10 baseball standings, bodes well for a bid to the NCAA regionals. Our team's fate is in its own hands, with two more games against the Cougars at Jackie Robinson Stadium this weekend and three up at Cal next week. The 9-10 Bruins will have to take 4 out of 5 to break .500 in Pac-10 play, but even 3 of 5 should assure the team of a playoff bid, no matter what the Beavers and Huskies do.
