I love the La Quinta Inn. Makes you feel like you are back in the 50s when the Hollywood set stayed there.
Hated the Norman course but I was playing terrible that day so it may just be me. My club played there when it was new; no water on the course, the restaurant was not open yet, and the cart girl stayed at the clubhouse serving the tourney waiting to tee off after us. 5 hours of hell.
If you ever stay at the Marriott, try Shadow Ridge. Very much enjoyed the layout.
Lost Canyon is tough. I was playing great then had one bad hole but it is tough to recover from an 11 on a par four! I've played Aviara three times. It has been years, but seemed like Disneyland in the plantings and the holes were not really memorable.
I checked Meadow Lakes out on Greenskeepers after reading your post - it is on my list now to play. Sounds good.
Hey, its the dead season. No football or basketball. Might as well talk about golf.
Have fun this weekend and drink plenty of water!
