I like Tijeras Creek in Rancho Santa Margarita also.
For an afternoon of abuse, you can play "the Babe" course at Industry Hills from the blue tee markers. Play in the spring, when the flowers are in bloom.
For a cheap course with great ocean views, Los Verdes in P.V. is fun. Just don't go on a weekend, if you get a tee time you are in for a 6 hour round.
