Just using baseball as a proxy for softball (softball didn't pop right up, and I don't want to go digging) According to 24/7 sports, UCLA baseball average attendance this year was 624. LSU and Miss State each averaged about 10,000.
If attendance is a proxy for how much outside money goes into paying the players .... we're screwed.

Our women's basketball attendance was not in the top-20 in the country. That means it was below 4,300 per game. Mississippi State (who were not very good this season), averaged 7,400.
Men's hoops? 90th, that's 90th in the country. 17th in the Big 10.
Like I said, if attendance is any kind of proxy for NIL support .....
