Woolery and Grant are back, both seniors. They were superb this year and hopefully will be even better a year from now. That's a terrific twosome to build an offense around - 49 HRs between them and Woolery tied for best in the nation in RBIs this year.
Even more significant, our pitching rotation this year was Tinsley, Terry and Fisher. Tinsley was a junior, Terry a sophomore and Fisher a freshman. They should all be better next season. I expect Terry and Fisher to be the top two. Fisher was the top rated pitcher in HS a year ago.
I do think the staff has some work to do, trying to avid the sort of errors in discipline that surfaced in this game but I think they will be better prepared next season for it.
Will we beat four time defending NC Oklahoma next year, or Texas or Texas Tech where the million dollar woman, Canady, will be a senior? No idea.of course. But we should be better next year than we were this year when we were among the last six teams standing in the WCWS - pithing is such a key element in softball and baseball and we will be improved in that area - with Terry and Fisher a year older each, we will be a a good position heading into the season
