I went back and rewatched it. Fernandez didn't signal anything.
I was looking to see if the 2rd base ump (wrongly) called hr out. In doing so, could see that both the runner and 2nd base up were in the line of sight for Fernandez when the ump made the call.
And, Fernandez did not react when the runner jogged to the dugout.
