I'm wondering what the rule is on runner interference. I have a very hard time believing that "what would have happened if the fielder hadn't interfered?" is a component of the rule.

And, the announcer is full of it, saying that would have been an easy out. The pitcher was about a foot further down the line when SoCaro player stuck her azz out and interfered. W/o that, it's a footrace between the runner down the line, and the pitcher chasing a ball that rolled 3/4 of the way down the line. Runner has momentum, pitcher doesn't. Runner is running straight down the line, pitcher has to judge path of the ball, gather, pick it up, and toss a very short toss to the catcher. I'd give the edge to the runner, but it was way far from an easy out.

Anyway, as they say, the ball don't lie. Runner scored anyway.
