leading by more than 0.500 in the final rotation - beam - through the first 4 competitors just fine - Campbell had a couple balance checks and a not so great score- they are missing some key gymnasts this season and due to preparation for the Olympics and injuries and such including their best on beam - anyway... then Esparza took a fall of beam as their fifth competitor and Katie McNBamera, needing a clean routine to finalized their victory in the meet, also took a fall off the beam.

So the Bru9ins' last three routines on their last apparatus snatched defeat from the jaws of victory as ASU's most reliable performer, Scharf, delivered in ASU's final routine of the meet to give the Sun Devils the victory 196.625 to 196.325 for UCLA.

This has just not been UCLA's weekend so far - (not a great sign with the men's basketball team hosting ASU tonight in front of 100 returning basketball stars. Hope they don't put the exclamation mark on this weekend of UCLA sports
