Two of them are top seeds whose fates will be decided this weekend.

Men's VB plays for the title Saturday - 2 pm PT - they will be the "visitors" against Hawai'i. telecast live on ESPN 2 (tournament being played in Fairfax, VA)

Beach VB is also in a sudden death tournament format, facing Cal next in the national SemiFinals in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Game is scheduled for 7 am PT on ESPN 2. However, a late storm came in and Friday's last game was postponed to first thing Saturday morning. That starts at 7 am EASTERN time/4 am PT. Should last an hour and a half. So in all likelihood, our quarterfinal should begin at 7. am PT

Win that one and we would face the winner of LSU-Florida State at 11 am PT in one semi-final.

Championship dual will take place on Sunday starting at 9 am PT (unless of course, weather....)

Softball, terrific team - clearly the second best team in the entire nation. Still playing out the end of the regular season - at this moment as I write this tied with San Diego State at 3-all in the top of the seventh. We were trying to rest Faraimo tonight but have brought her in now with two on and two out in the top of the 7th. Have to see how this one turns out.

Regardless, they still have the conference tournament before they get to the NCAA women's World Series. Regardless, we're still better than any other team in the country - and we have some margin on that - but not very confident about our chances to win it all. Oklahoma mercy-ruled us in our one meeting this season, beating our ace, Faraimo, in the process. They are currently leading a very good Oklahoma State team - their rivals - at OK State - last score I saw was 8-3.

Men's VB and Beach VB should be clear favorites to win their NCs in my opinion. Softball not so much.

So this weekend could be the highlight of the year (as early April might have been without two devastating injuries). Enjoy it.

Hope Bob will send us whatever updates he picks up. Thanks, Bob
