UCLA BVB played three duals today, having fallen into the losers' side of the bracket by losing yesterday to Stanford. They played a good Stanford team, a very good SC team and then, for the championship, a good Cal team. They won all three duals 3-0 - three sweeps. But the last two weren't all that easy.
The 2s and 4s got the Bruins off to 2-0 leads. Then all three duals were decided by the 5s. In straight sets. Against Cal, the 3s were losing and the 1s were winning but it was still tight. But three sweeps and Pac-12 champions.
UCLA softball is at Utah to open a three game series - five games left after tonight before the conference softball tournament.
And what used to be my favorite UCLA sports event when i was a kid - the UCLA-SC dual track and field meet - men and women meets simultaneous. Too bad we don't go all out in T&F any more
