Just finished watching the SC match - great improvement - first time lost to them 2-3, second time beat them 3-2, this time beat them 4-1; watching the LMU match now although i do know the result.
Question concerns our #1 court.
It seems to me our #2 and #4 courts just about never lose. # 5 has carried the day for us often as i have been watching matches. Powers' team had lost only once going into today. (Story isn't up yet on the official site and I missed which court lost to SC today.)
But Court # 1 has struggled at times. A Van Winkle has such great height and is so effective a blocker at the net and yet winning the #1 pairs has been quite a challenge at times. My impression anyway.
All three SC matches we won pairs 2 and 4 to open up - coming into today i THINK SC won the #1 pairs both previous times - please correct me if my memory is incorrect.
Any observations/comments on our #1 pairs? It makes me nervous to feel we can't be all that confident in our #1 pair as the national championships are coming up fast. If my observations are off, please tell me why and correct this feeling.
